Bochet (bow-SHAY) is a historic mead made from burned honey. A French recipe dating from 1393 tells of cauldrons over wood fires, in which honey's light sweetness and floral nuance would transform into the charred and caramelized flavors of toffee, chocolate, and bonfire blackened marshmallows. Our sweet take on this ancient classic is best enjoyed cold, with spicy dishes or as a dessert, and while staring distantly into dancing flames.

I ordered this wine as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law, and picked it as result of another person's review. I've always been curious about honey wine, and still am, since I didn't get to taste this one. It has a beautiful light amber color, and my daughter said that although the flavor was not bad, it reminded her of whiskey. Hmmm....interesting !

It's official, I love this one!
I think this one is my favorite so far. I'm also a big fan of sweet stout lagers/ales and this gives you that type of taste only in a mead. I like it so much that I'm kind of bummed it's only a seasonal thing. Might have to stock up for next year, lol.
